About Mario Tory

Mario Tory has become one of the most sought-after up and coming comedians in the country. Primarily known from his time as the Saturday night host at the World Renown Uptown Comedy Corner in Atlanta, this Tennessee native has opened for veterans such as Sommore, Sid Davis, Don ‘DC’ Curry, DL Hughley, Mike Epps and others. Mario has earned the respect from veteran comedians and comedy club bookers as a true headliner, and has worked as a host, feature act and headliner in various comedy clubs across the country.
Mario has caught the eyes of the comedy community after being co-signed by veteran comedian/actor Kevin Hart. Mario was the first comedian to air in Kevin Hart’s comedy platform for up and coming comedians called Hart of the City. From his success on HOTC, Kevin Hart offered to produce Mario’s first nationally televised half-hour stand-up special, Kevin Hart presents: The Next Level, on Comedy Central. Because of the national exposure from Comedy Central, Mario performed on 50 Cent’s BET skit comedy show, 50 Central.
Mario was invited to film a pilot for a Kevin Hart executive produced situation comedy, Behind the Mask; and recently filmed a scene in an upcoming comedy film titled “Tweed”, starring Jay Pharaoh and Katt Williams.
In 2010, he was the winner of the Kiss 104.1 Big Easy Comedy Competition in Atlanta in which he represented the City of Atlanta in New Orleans, LA. After winning the competition, he opened shows for Jay Lamont, EarthQuake, Gary Owens and DC Curry. He was also a finalist in the Steve Harvey Morning Show and Nephew Tommy “50 Comics Deep” Comedy Competition. He has hosted the Atlantic City Comedy Festival held in Atlantic City, NJ, with Mike Epps. He was a feature in the Royal Comedy Tour starring DL Hughley, Sommore and Bruce Bruce, which landed him a short touring opportunity with Sommore as a featured act.
Mario is currently the Saturday night host at the Uptown Comedy Corner in Atlanta. In the past twelve months he has had, a starring role in a Christian play entitled “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” starring Jacky Clark-Chisholm (Clark Sisters) and Reginald Ballard (Bruh-man from Martin). In addition to his thespian efforts, Mario has appeared in Rodney Perry’s “Off the Chain” on Bounce TV and has become a finalist in the Shaq All-Star Comedy competition in Atlanta as well as a finalist for NBC’s Stand-Up for Diversity comedy show. He is currently touring his latest comedic effort “Beards and Button-Downs Comedy Wave” with recent headlining efforts at The Comedy Stop in Atlantic City, The Comic Strip in El Paso, TX and The world-famous Stardome in Birmingham, Alabama.
